Making Solar Affordable

October 20, from 7 to 9 pm at the Park Street Complex in Honesdale

The financial realities of adding solar power to our homes and businesses will be the topic of a forum sponsored by SEEDS at the Park Street Complex in Honesdale on Tuesday, October 20th from 7 to 9 PM. Martin Young of Gravity Sun Power located in Honesdale, will explain system components and costs, state rebates, federal tax incentives, income sources, energy credits, and projected returns on investments.

There will also be information from local banks and zoning officers about zoning regulations, loans, mortgages, and property values as they relate to solar installations.

Mr. Young took advantage of a SEEDS-sponsored course on solar installation, and went on for further training to become a state-certified solar installer. He is currently installing several photovoltaic systems in the area.

SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education & Development Support) recently won the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journals Green Powerhouse Award for a non-profit for its work educating the public about sustainable energy, conservation, and efficiency, and creating a local infrastructure to support renewable energy. This forum, which is open to all, continues that effort. There will be refreshments and a free-will offering.
